Sand Bar 2

Sand Bars are a type of Hazard that can be found on the Desert and Arid Highways of the US, as the wind sweeps across the Desert it carries the Sand with it, this creates Sand Bars on the Highway as the Desert tries to overcome the roads.

Facts and Figures[]

When a Vehicle drives onto a Space that contains a Sand Bar they must immediately make a Hazard Roll against the Safety Limit.

Safety Limit: 30mph

Quantity: D6

When a Sand Bar Hazard is generated on the road the Player should roll a D6 to determine the Quantity, these are placed on the edge of the road starting at the nearest edge of the road and going away from the Vehicle, roll a D6 to determine which side of the road they are on (Odds = Left, Evens = Right), if there are more Sand Bars than Spaces on the Road (Such as 5 Sand Bars on a Straight), then fill the generated side of the road section and then begin on the opposite side of the road.

Each Sandbar covers 1 Space and 3 Lanes of the road, this can result in the safe area of the Highway reducing to just 2 Lanes if there are Sand Bars on both sides of the road.
